The ferroelectric phase transition in a 500 nm sized single particle of BaTiO<sub>3</sub> tracked by coherent X-ray diffraction

Abstract The shapes and sizes of grains influence the anisotropy crystal structures configuration ferroelectric domains. In order to better understand these effects, we introduce a method observe phase transition in single particle sub-micrometer size. was observed by cooling sample through its Curie temperature, studying pattern variations Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction from 500 nm sized BaTiO 3 . A change 200 peak (cubic phase) both 002 peaks (tetragonal phase); seen, with fringes connecting them like bridge. cubic also imaged using imaging. apparent strain distribution caused dislocation internal visible reconstructed image.
